Private label & ecommerce
Your brand on the box can put your business at the center of the claim.
Private-label sellers often control specifications, packaging, instructions, marketing and the customer relationship—even when production is outsourced.
Manufacturer-like exposure
Claims may focus on product selection, specifications, warnings, advertising, instructions, supplier oversight or failure to respond to known complaints. Fully disclose whether products are designed, altered, assembled, relabeled or imported.
Online marketplaces
Marketplace requirements are not a coverage analysis. Verify named insureds, covered products, limits, territory, additional insured wording and whether sales through all platforms are included.
Supplier changes
Require notice before a supplier changes a component, formula, factory or subcontractor. Preserve samples and testing records where appropriate. Product drift can make old documentation unreliable.
Brand protection and recall
A bodily-injury liability policy does not ordinarily fund every cost of removing a dangerous product, notifying customers or restoring a brand. Evaluate recall and crisis-management coverage separately.
